Kunlun Red Star is delighted to welcome another two new recruits to its roster. Two Finns, forward Jonas Enlund (right) and defenseman Tommi Taimi, joined our team in Yekaterinburg where we prepare for the game against Avtomobilist in Saturday.

Enlund, 29, has impressive experience at some of the KHL’s leading clubs after playing in Russia since 2010. He spent much of that time at Sibir, playing a big role in the team’s transformation from Eastern Conference outsider to serious playoff contender. Then he moved on to Lokomotiv and represented both Army clubs, CSKA Moscow and SKA St. Petersburg. In total he has 209 points (90 goals, 119 assists) from 350 games in the KHL.

This season he was placed on waivers by CSKA after making 25 appearances and contributing four goals and eight assists for a +10. His most productive KHL campaign was with Sibir in 2014-15, where he had 45 points in 52 regular season games and added another eight points in 16 playoff outings for the Novosibirsk team.

Taimi, 26, is known to KHL followers thanks to his spell with Amur Khabarovsk in 2014-15 season. Having posted 13 (5+8) points in 35 games of that campaign, he moved back to Finland and joined HIFK. His record for the last and beginning of current season in SM-Liiga stands at 35 (8+27) points in 60 appearances.
